The principle has a new project and that is getting boys to read.
She asked if I could tutor some Grade K boys in reading. O.K.
She said start from scratch.
O.K. That would be "A"
That was last week's lesson.
They did pretty good but will need lots of practice.
This week was "B" and the principle threw in numbers to learn as well. O.K. no problem. "1" was easy. We will have to work on "2." some more.
The letter "B" is difficult but they'll get it. We went on to "C".
Ronnie decided he wanted to write a whole word.
What word would you like to learn Ronnie?
"BABY" Miss
Well, you don't like to write "B"s as yet. How about 'CAT"?
O.K. Miss
He did it! How great! Ronnie's first written word. He's a happy boy.
Glen is a happy and active child. I had difficulty keeping him interested today. At least he stayed in the classroom and didn't try to bolt like last week.
I realized the best way to teach them,so far, is on the chalkboard. They are both hyper active and find it difficult to sit still.
